Batter + Dough is a state-licensed & insured home bakery located in Mentor, Ohio. I specialize in gluten-free baking kits & mixes, as well as small-batch gluten-free sweet treats. I like to say my baked good are "always delicious and surprisingly gluten-free." I strive to make my baked goods indistinguishable from their gluten counterparts. I want everyone to love and enjoy my treats whether you need or want to eat gluten-free or not.

MY STORY

Hi! I'm Suzy and I love baking and eating delicious things. Nothing is better than seeing joy on someone's face after they've eaten something you've baked!  

 

I've been selling my baked treats for over 12 years as a "side hustle." I've done everything from creating dessert tables for large weddings to making cute little smash cakes for first birthdays. I also worked as the Product Manager for the James Beard-award winning food websites Chow & Chowhound (Sadly now defunct). While there I created video tips -- many focused on baking -- that you can watch on YouTube.

While looking for a gluten-free sugar cookie recipe to use to decorate cookies as a gift for someone with Celiac Disease, I couldn't find one that was up to my standards for taste and durability (for decorating & shipping). So I developed my own recipe! It is now my go-to cutout cookie no matter who I am baking for. Gluten-free baking requires a lot of different ingredients that most people don't have in their pantry -- so I've made cookie kits so anyone can easily make delicious cookies at home. This has been an idea I've had for many years and I've finally made it a reality. I'm excited to share this with you. In addition to cookie kits I also make delicious, small-batch baked treats which I sell at markets and via my Etsy shop.
